The process of creating an insurance claim is pretty straightforward in Dentrix. When you receive an insurance check and enter payments, if a patient has secondary insurance, a pop-up message asks you if you want to create a secondary claim. It can be easy to dismiss the pop-up thinking that you’ll come back and create the secondary claim later, but then forget to do so. Why not automate the process of creating secondary insurance claims?
How To
- From the Ledger, click File > Insurance Payment Setup.
- In the Additional Options group box, check the Auto-Create Secondary Claim with Primary Payment option to enable Dentrix to automatically create a secondary claim (for patients with secondary insurance set up in the Family File).
- Check the Auto-receive Secondary Claim if No Pending Ins Estimate option to enable Dentrix to automatically post a zero payment and close out the secondary claim if the insurance estimate is $0.00.
- Click OK.
